Saving or Creating an Exercise Routine
Saving or Creating an Exercise Routine
Updated over 10 months ago

This article guides you through the process of saving routines on POD1UM, an essential feature for coaches and trainers looking to streamline their workflow. Routines can be saved from any existing workout in a training plan or created as new standalone routines, and can be used to import while building future workouts.
With the right permissions, these routines can also be published on the platform, making them accessible to athletes online.

How to Add a New Routine

  1. Start with 'Add New': Log into your POD1UM account and click on the ‘Add New’ button on your dashboard. This is your starting point for creating new content.

  2. Select 'New Routine': In the 'Add New' section, choose ‘New Routine’. This option will lead you to the routine creation interface.

  3. Build Your Workout or Routine: You can now start building your routine. This could be a specific set of exercises, a particular workout sequence, or any other structured activity plan you wish to create.

Saving a Routine from an Existing Workout

  1. Choose 'Save as Routine' from the Workout Menu: Navigate to the workout you wish to save as a routine. In the workout menu, select ‘Save as Routine’.

  2. Select Sections to Include: Decide whether you want to save the entire workout as a routine or just specific sections. This flexibility allows you to tailor the routine to different needs or goals.

  3. Decide on the Routine’s Accessibility: Determine whether the routine will be:

    • Public: Accessible to athletes online. This option is suitable for routines you want to share widely on the platform.

    • Private: For internal use or manual assignment to specific athletes. Choose this if the routine is tailored to particular needs or if it's part of a paid program.

  4. Populate the Required Fields: Fill in all necessary details such as the routine’s name, description, training objectives addressed, and any other relevant information. This step is crucial for clarity and ease of use, both for yourself and the athletes.

Tips for Creating Effective Routines

  • Clarity in Descriptions: Provide clear and detailed descriptions for your routines. This helps athletes understand the purpose and execution of each routine.

  • Categorisation: Use appropriate tags or categories for your routines, making them easier to find and sort on the platform.

  • Regular Updates: Regularly review and update your routines to keep them effective and engaging for athletes.

  • Feedback Consideration: Consider athlete feedback when designing and updating routines. This can help in tailoring them to be more effective and enjoyable.
