Creating an exercise routine
Updated over a week ago

This article guides you through the process of creating routines on Pod1um, an essential feature for coaches and trainers looking to streamline their workflow. Routines can be saved from any existing workout in a training plan or created as new standalone routines, and can be used to import while building future workouts.
With the right permissions, these routines can also be published on the platform, making them accessible to athletes online.

Saving routines directly from the training plan builder

Did you know you can save workout routines directly while constructing your training plans? This feature allows you to quickly capture and reuse workout segments. Here's how:

Steps:

  1. Access the training plan builder:

    • Start by navigating to the "Training plan builder." This is where you create and manage your comprehensive training schedules.

  2. Locate the desired workout:

    • Within the Training Plan Builder, identify the specific workout or workout block that you wish to save as a routine. This could be a single day's workout or a distinct block within a longer training session.

  3. Open the options menu:

    • Find the three-dotted menu (often referred to as an "ellipsis" menu or "more options" menu) associated with the workout you want to save. This menu typically provides additional actions related to that specific workout.

  4. Select "Save routine":

    • Click on the three-dotted menu to open the options. From the menu, select the "Save routine" option.

    • This will open the workout builder.

    • You will need to name the routine and then click the 'save routine' button.

    Tips for creating effective routines

  • Clarity in descriptions: Provide clear and detailed descriptions for your routines. This helps athletes understand the purpose and execution of each routine.

  • Regular updates: Regularly review and update your routines to keep them effective and engaging for athletes.

  • Feedback consideration: Consider athlete feedback when designing and updating routines. This can help in tailoring them to be more effective.
