Adding Custom Exercises
Updated over a week ago

This guide is dedicated to helping you add new exercises to your POD1UM library. Whether you're a coach looking to enrich your training resources or an organisation aiming to provide diverse training options, this feature allows for a streamlined process of expanding your exercise library on the platform.

Step-by-Step Guide to Add Exercises

  1. Click the ‘Add New’ Button: Begin by logging into your POD1UM account. On your dashboard, locate and click on the ‘Add New’ button. This is your first step towards enhancing your exercise library.

  2. Select 'New Exercise': In the 'Add New' section, you’ll find various options. Click on ‘New Exercise’ to proceed with adding a custom movement or drill.

  3. Choose Your Upload Method: As a coach, you have two primary options for adding exercises:

    • Using Vimeo/Youtube Link: If you have a Vimeo or YouTube link for the exercise, you can easily add it here. This option is ideal for sharing high-quality video resources already available online.

    • Uploading Your Own Video: If you have the necessary permissions, you can upload your own exercise videos directly to the platform.

  4. Bulk Import Option: For adding multiple exercises at once, you can use the 'Bulk Import' feature. This can be done by compiling multiple video links or by importing a CSV file containing all the relevant links. This method is particularly efficient for coaches and organisations looking to add a large number of exercises in one go.

Tips for Adding Effective Exercises

  • Quality of Videos: Ensure that the videos you add are of high quality, both in terms of visual clarity and instructional content. This enhances the learning experience for athletes.

  • Descriptive Titles and Tags: Use clear and descriptive titles for each exercise. Adding tags can also help categorise the exercises based on movement type, or equipment used.

  • Informative Descriptions: Provide a brief but informative description for each exercise. This might include its purpose, benefits, targeted areas, and any important cues or safety tips.

Bulk Importing Exercises

  • Preparing Your CSV File: When using a CSV file for bulk import, make sure it’s correctly formatted with one video title & link per line. This ensures the platform can process and add each exercise correctly.

  • Efficiency in Bulk Importing: Bulk importing is a time-saving method when you have a large number of exercises to add. It streamlines the process, making your library rich and diverse in a shorter time.
