Updated over 2 months ago

Creating assessments on Pod1um is an effective way to evaluate your athletes' performance, collect feedback, and track progress over time. This guide will take you through the process of setting up and customising assessments using the Pod1um platform.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating an Assessment

  1. Access Assessments:

    • Log in to your Pod1um account.

    • From the side menu, navigate to Library > Other Content > Forms/Assessments. This will take you to the assessments table where you can view, manage, and create new assessments.

  2. Add a New Assessment:

    • Click on the Add New button located at the top right corner of the Assessments dashboard. This will initiate the process of creating a new assessment.

  3. Title and Description:

    • Enter a clear and descriptive title for your assessment. This should reflect the nature or purpose of the assessment.

    • In the description field, provide a brief overview of what the assessment aims to achieve and any instructions or guidelines the athlete should be aware of before starting.

  4. Create Assessment:

    • Click Create to open the Assessment Builder. This tool allows you to design and customise your assessment with various content blocks.

  5. Provide and Request Information:

    • Information Blocks: Use different types of content blocks to provide information to the athletes. You can add:

      • Header Blocks: Create titles and subheadings to structure your assessment.

      • Text Blocks: Include detailed instructions, descriptions, or questions for the athletes.

      • Image Blocks: Add visual elements to illustrate points or provide visual cues.

      • Video Blocks: Embed videos from platforms like YouTube or Vimeo to demonstrate exercises or deliver instructions.

    • Request Information: Collect responses from athletes by adding interactive elements:

      • Text Response Boxes: Include these to allow athletes to type their responses to questions or prompts.

      • Image Uploads: Request athletes to upload images, such as progress pictures or screenshots of their workout results.

      • Video Submissions: Allow athletes to submit videos for technique evaluation or to demonstrate their performance.

  6. Add Content:

    • Continue customising your assessment by adding more headers, text, images, or video links as needed. Organise your content logically to guide athletes through the assessment smoothly.

  7. Preview Your Assessment:

    • Once you have completed adding content, click the Preview button to see how your assessment will appear to athletes. This allows you to check for clarity and flow, ensuring that all elements are correctly placed and easily understood.

  8. Publish:

    • If you are satisfied with the content and layout, click Publish to make your assessment live. The assessment will now be accessible to athletes according to the visibility settings you have configured.

Tips for Creating Effective Assessments

  • Clear Instructions: Always provide clear instructions for each section of the assessment to avoid confusion and ensure that athletes understand what is required of them.

  • Concise Content: Keep your content concise and relevant to maintain the athlete's engagement and prevent information overload.

  • Interactive Elements: Use a mix of text, image, and video response options to make the assessment more interactive and comprehensive.

  • Feedback Integration: Consider including a section at the end for athletes to provide feedback on the assessment itself. This can help you improve future assessments.
