Tagging Athletes
Updated over a week ago

This article will guide you through the process of tagging athletes within a team on POD1UM. Tagging is an efficient way to categorise and manage athletes based on specific criteria like level, position, injury status, or training groups. Before tagging athletes, ensure you have created a team and added your athletes to it.

Step-by-Step Guide to Tagging Athletes

  1. Create a Team: If you haven’t already, start by creating a team on POD1UM. Teams can be sports teams, clubs, or any group of athletes you are coaching. To create a team, go to 'Users' on the side-rail, then 'Teams' from the menu drawer, and click 'Create New'.

  2. Add Athletes to Your Team: Once your team is set up, add athletes to it. You can do this by navigating to your team's page, clicking on 'Add Athletes', and entering their information or selecting them from your existing athlete list.

  3. Access the Tagging Feature: With your team and athletes in place, you can start using the tags feature. Go to your team page, and you'll see the list of athletes in your team.

  4. Tagging Athletes: Find the athlete you want to tag and click on their row. You’ll see an option to add tags. Tags can be anything that helps you categorise your athletes, like "Youth", "Power & speed", "Injury-Recovery", or custom tags relevant to your training program.

  5. Manage Tags: You can add multiple tags to each athlete and edit or remove tags as needed. This flexibility allows you to keep your athlete categorisations up-to-date and relevant.

Tips for Effective Use of Tags

  • Consistent Tagging System: Develop a consistent tagging system that you and any other coaches in your team understand and use. Consistency helps in managing and locating athletes efficiently.

  • Regular Review: Periodically review your tags to ensure they still accurately reflect the status or grouping of your athletes. Athletes’ skills and roles can evolve, requiring updates to their tags.

  • Utilise Tags for Training Management: Use tags to organise training groups, manage workout assignments, and track progress within specific athlete categories.

Benefits of Tagging Athletes

  • Enhanced Organisation: Tags help you organise athletes more effectively, especially when dealing with large teams or diverse skill levels.

  • Efficient Communication: Tags can aid in sending targeted communications or assigning workouts to specific groups of athletes.

  • Personalised Training: By categorising athletes, you can tailor training programs more precisely to suit different needs or objectives.
